New World's map size makes it easy to sink enough hours into purely exploring its territories, provided you're good enough to evade higher-level foes. You can also place down camps while you're out in the world, which act as a respawn point. You won't be able to quest in certain places until you've leveled up enough times, but there's plenty of ground to cover in between.

Although this provides an opportunity to lose yourself in harvesting materials, there's also a fast travel system in place that lets you more quickly get around as long as you have enough Azoth on you. New World's map size makes it so that moving on foot between the settlements found in most territories feels like a journey onto itself. Shipwrecks, abandoned towns, ruins, massive bridges, and other points of interest dot the landscape, doing a great job of inviting you to explore them.
